Manchester United have ended their interest in Ivan Perisic. Jose Mourinho had earmarked the Croatian as the 4th signing in the infamous list of 4. However, he is no longer considered to be a priority target.

Inter’s insistence on Martial being included in the deal accompanied with their huge asking price have proved a sticking point in negotiations. With Mourinho looking to increase competitions for places, allowing Martial to leave on loan was never an option for the Portuguese.

That brings us to a certain Gareth Bale. The player has been long linked with Manchester United, with him fitting the profile of the ‘marquee’ signing Ed Woodward and fans alike crave so much. Marca have reported that Gareth Bale must now be sold before top target Mbappe is brought in.

Manchester United have naturally been placed as his suitors with a fee of 100M Euros being touted( however unlikely to cost this much if deal went through.) Despite this, Gareth Bale and his agent have repeatedly made it clear in public that Bale is happy in Madrid and is not looking for a move elsewhere. Despite this, with Zidane and Real Madrid moving in a different direction it may force Gareth Bale’s hand in seeking pastures anew.

Whether Gareth Bale leaves Real Madrid or not remains to be seen. But one thing that seems clear, is that if the Welsh winger does leave Real Madrid, it will only be for the Theatre of Dreams. Likewise, it may seem United's interest in Perisic has 'cooled' to say the least but don't be surprised to see United give it another crack later on. However as of now it seems United are moving away from Perisic with Inter not having received a new offer despite United's clear interest in the player.
