Manchester is Blue!!!

The pre-game build up was extraordinary, Sky done their best to promote this game as the biggest in the world. What happened, was a magnificent Man City who played a false 9 and controlled the whole game. A deserving victory in the end for the men from the blue side of Manchester.

The irony of their victory is not however, the beautiful football was over shadowed by two scrappy goals. However, Romelu Lukaku will have nightmares tonight, his poor defensive display at corners led to two Man City goals where Silva and Otamendi where there to pounce.

The Belgian international, who is his country’s top scorer, had the chance to rectify his issues but Ederson’s face was in the way. Thierry Henry said on commentary that it was a great save, even though he didn’t know much about it, that United’s number 9 should have scored.

United didn’t do much to even draw game, their first attempt on goal came on the 45th minute. They looked like boys in a schoolyard compared to the men in blue. The thing that impressed me most about Pep’s side, was all his team are physically stronger than most of the United players. Their core strength is much better.

United fans will point to the fact that Pogba wasn’t available today, as he might have more composure on the ball compared to others but City would have man marked him out of the game. It was a tough watch, but all credit to Man City. The title is going to Manchester, and more specifically the Etihad.
